I bet you never saw this coming. Fortnite will be collaborating with Coachella for some in-game releases. The organizers of the annual music festival recently announced their partnership with Epic Games, the developers of the popular battle royale game Fortnite. Epic Games will be releasing Coachella-themed skins as well as various in-game features.
While Coachella is widely known for its glamorous performances, it is also known for the interesting fashion sense of its attendees. And from the looks of things, they will be bringing their interesting take on fashion to the Fortnite skins.
Coachella will be releasing 2 skins for the first and second weeks of the music festival, which will start on the 14th of April and last until the 22nd. The new skins, which were inspired by the fashion styles at Coachella, will react to the game's music. The first items will be up for sale by 8 p.m. ET at the Fortnite shop. Along with the skins, Coachella will be in charge of the music playing on the in-game radio. Players will be listening to music from artists in this year's Coachella lineup as they cruise around in their Fortnite rides.
While this is the first partnership between Fortnite and Coachella, this will not be the first time Fortnite makes a foray into the music scene. In the last few years, Fortnite has collaborated with music giants like Ariana Grande and Marshmello to host live events on the platform.
This partnership between Fortnite and Coachella is part of a bigger plan by Coachella to expand its presence on the digital stage. Coachella has also gone ahead and released several NFTs and features for mobile AR for the attendees of the festival.
